Ever-changing legislation puts additional pressure on businesses and individuals. To make sure you haven’t missed any important changes and to spot potential risks early, the best solution is to keep up with the changes and know your way around the relevant resources.
PwC’s Academy is a study platform created by PricewaterhouseCoopers SIA (PwC) that offers online training on taxes and other relevant and important business topics to everyone who is interested. PwC’s Academy lecturers are skilled and experienced PwC professionals who work with Latvian and international companies in various industries, take part in drafting laws and regulations, discuss those with government agencies, and have a good understanding of Latvian and foreign tax systems.
As part of PwC’s Academy, we are starting the 15th season of studies in our 6-month Tax Foundation Course. We are happy about more than 1,000 students who have taken the opportunity over these years to gain a better understanding and improve their knowledge of tax matters.
During the Tax Foundation Course classes, the webinar participants will be exploring theoretical questions, analysing practical examples, and reading explanations given by the responsible authorities. Every participant has a chance to send in their questions or ask them in class. Regular self-tests will be run to reinforce the knowledge gained.
The participants will receive all the necessary materials before class. The correct test answers will be sent after class. Participants don’t need to worry if they cannot attend class at the appointed time – a video recording will be provided for all classes.
The course content and topics will be especially valuable for CEOs and accountants, financial accounting and governance experts, lawyers, consultants and human capital managers, as well as other interested individuals who want to understand tax matters.
The Tax Foundation Course is split into several modules. You can attend the full course of study or choose a separate training module you are interested in. The training runs in the Latvian language once a week on Wednesdays at 14.00–17.30. A special early sign-up offer is available with a saving of EUR 391 until 5 October!

Ask questionThe global entertainment & media (E&M) industry’s revenue strongly outpaced overall global economic growth last year. Following a pandemic-related 2.3% decline in 2020, E&M revenue rose a strong 10.4% in 2021, from US$2.12trn to 2.34trn. With the industry becoming more digital, more mobile and more youth-oriented, virtual reality (VR), gaming and digital advertising are the main growth drivers. These are findings from PwC’s Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2022–2026, the 23rd annual analysis and forecast of E&M spending by consumers and advertisers across 52 countries and territories.
Russia’s military aggression has significantly affected some of the businesses importing metal products from Russia and Belarus, as well as industries such as metalworking, defence, construction, mechanical engineering, and information & communication technologies. To promote market stability, the Ministry of Economics intends to implement aid measures as an immediate solution in the form of financial instruments to ensure traders’ future business.
